Supplies In PPS Adequate As Flood Focus On Coastal Areas – SUK Kelantan

Suk kelantan: The supply of necessities for flood victims throughout Kelantan is adequate while the current flood situation is still under control, said Kelantan State Secretary, Datuk Dr Tengku Mohamed Faziharudean Tengku Feissal. He stated that the supply of relief goods under the Social Welfare Department, including emergency stocks, is sufficient to face any eventuality during the Northeast Monsoon period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the flood is more concentrated in coastal areas such as Bachok, Tumpat, Kota Bharu, and Pasir Puteh. The southern areas of the state such as Gua Musang and Kuala Krai have not been affected, and no temporary relief centres (PPS) have been opened in those districts.

Kota Bharu has recorded the highest number of PPS so far with 19 centres operating. Residents in coastal areas are advised to remain vigilant as heavy rain is expected to continue until Nov 26. Authorities urge the public to obey evacuation orders for safety if required.

Tengku Mohamed Faziharudean also explained that the flooding is due to continuous heavy rain and stagnant water. However, the water level is expected to recede quickly if the rain stops and the flow system returns to normal.
