Kuala lumpur: Conglomerate Sunway Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar as its independent and non-executive director with immediate effect.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sunway stated that Abdul Wahid, 62, is currently serving as the independent non-executive chairman of Cypark Resources Bhd and IOI Corporation Bhd. The company noted that he recently completed his five-year tenure as chairman of Bursa Malaysia Bhd on April 30, 2025, as mentioned in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
At the closing bell, Sunway saw an increase of eight sen or 1.53 percent, bringing its share price to RM5.30 on Bursa Malaysia.
