Shah Alam: The Sungai Buloh Parliamentary People’s Service Centre was mobilised promptly to provide initial aid to the victims of a storm that struck Kampung Melayu Subang and Subang Perdana, Shah Alam, this afternoon. Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives and Member of Parliament for Sungai Buloh, Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, reported that the storm affected several homes and public facilities, although no casualties were recorded.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the service centre is collaborating with local leaders, the Petaling District and District Land Office, the Shah Alam City Council’s Rapid Unit, the Fire and Rescue Team, the Social Welfare Department, and the police. Their joint efforts aim to ensure that logistics, food, shelter, and daily necessities are provided efficiently to those in need.
“This incident certainly brings inconvenience and anxiety to the affected families, especially when they are celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I fully understand the feelings of the victims and the residents who are affected by this unfortunate mishap,” Ramanan expressed in a statement. He emphasized the importance of solidarity and urged all parties to assist one another and follow security advice from authorities.
Ramanan also mentioned his intention to visit the affected areas to assess the situation and meet with the residents impacted by the storm.
