SunCon 2Q Net Profit Rises To RM103.58 Mln

Kuala lumpur: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has reported a significant increase in its net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, reaching RM103.58 million compared to RM83.89 million in the same period last year. This growth has been attributed to positive contributions from all segments of the company.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, despite the rise in net profit, the group's revenue experienced a decline, falling to RM1.01 billion from RM1.47 billion, primarily due to the performance of the construction segment. Over the first half of the year, SunCon's net profit rose to RM221.99 million from RM159.61 million, while revenue decreased to RM2.04 billion from RM2.87 billion.

SunCon has surpassed its initial order book replenishment target for 2026, securing RM6.85 billion in new orders thus far. This achievement has prompted the company to revise its 2026 target upwards to a range of RM7.0 billion to RM9.0 billion. The group's outstanding order book has reached an all-time high of RM10.5 billion, ensuring strong earnings visibility and supporting ongoing growth.

In addition to its core construction activities, SunCon is bolstering its position in the advanced technology facilities (ATF) segment. During the first half of 2026, the group secured three new data center-related projects, including two substation work packages for hyperscale developments. The company is actively pursuing further opportunities in the ATF sector.

Simultaneously, SunCon continues to engage with in-house projects from the Sunway Group, which include hospitals, integrated developments, commercial buildings, and transit-oriented developments (TODs). These projects provide a stable base of construction opportunities and enhance the group's external order book.
