Sultan of Selangor Receives Significant Business Tithe Contributions

Selangor:Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has received business tithe contributions totaling RM41.72 million for 2025 from five companies, benefiting the Selangor Zakat Board at Istana Bukit Kayangan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the largest contribution was made by Lembaga Tabung Haji, whose chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain handed over RM27.01 million. This amount positioned Lembaga Tabung Haji as the principal corporate tithe contributor to Zakat Selangor for the year.

Additional contributions included RM5.60 million from Tenaga Nasional Berhad, represented by Chief Digital and Information Officer Azlan Ahmad for CEO Datuk Shamsul Ahmad. Maybank Islamic Banking Group's CEO, Mohamad Yasin Abdullah, contributed RM4.22 million.

Further contributions came from Bank Rakyat, with chairman Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak handing over RM3.38 million, and Rural Capital Sdn Bhd, where chairman Datuk Noor Hariri Mohamed Noor presented RM1.51 million.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Selangor Islamic Religious Council chairman Datuk Salehuddin Saidin, Zakat Selangor chairman Tan Sri Syed Anwar Jamalullail, deputy chairman Tan Sri Ambrin Buang, and CEO Mohd Khaidzir Shahari. All contributions were designated for the 2025 haul.
