Accra:Selangor The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, attended the Royal Gala Dinner organized by the Royal Selangor Polo and Equestrian Club (RSPEC). The event was part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations commemorating the Sultan's reign.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, were also present at the gala. The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, graced the event as well.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and RSPEC president Datuk Syed Budriz Putra Jamalullail were among the attendees. During the dinner, Sultan Sharafuddin presented the Polo Lifetime Achievement Award to nine individuals for their contributions to the development of polo.

RSPEC deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim stated that the event was a significant step in promoting polo and equestrian sports within the community and enhancing Selangor's appeal as a sports tourism destination. He emphasized the club's commitment to being a public club, aiming to connect the community with the world of polo and equestrian sports.

Moving forward, RSPEC plans to expand its sports, educational, and community programs to offer more opportunities for the younger generation to engage with polo and equestrian activities.
