Sultan Of Perak Empowers Youths To Deliver Friday Sermon

Ipoh: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, has granted permission for youths to deliver the Friday sermon in mosques across the state tomorrow, aligning this initiative with the National Youth Day celebration on May 15.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, president of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), announced that Sultan Nazrin's decree serves as an acknowledgment of the significant contributions made by youth to the nation. The Friday sermon, themed "Belia: Tenaga Penggerak Kemajuan Negara" (Youth: The Driving Force of National Progress), underscores the pivotal role of youth in national development.

The Perak State Youth and Sports Department has put forward 94 names of youth leaders who have been approved by the Sultan to deliver the sermon at various mosques and suraus during the Friday prayers in Perak on May 8, 2026.
