The event was also witnessed by Higher Education Minister Zambry Abd Kadir and Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
During the ceremony, Zambry presented the official letter confirming the name change of the university, which is wholly owned by the Pahang State Government, to Al-Sultan Abdullah. In conjunction with the 40th wedding anniversary of the Sultan of Pahang and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, a thanksgiving ceremony and special prayers were also held at Istana Abdulaziz today.
On February 6, Al-Sultan Abdullah had expressed his consent for UniPSAS to be rebranded as UniQSAAS, marking it as the first university of its kind in Malaysia. Al-Sultan Abdullah stated that the rebranding is not merely a change of name but a symbol of a clear direction to make the Quran a guiding beacon for intellectual and spiritual development in the state.
