Kuala Lumpur: The Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, has been discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) and is currently resting in Kuala Lumpur. The Sultan had been receiving treatment at the institute since May 27.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Brunei Prime Minister’s Office announced via Instagram that His Majesty is staying at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur following his discharge. Medical specialists have recommended that Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah continues to rest for a few more days before returning to Brunei Darussalam.

The Sultan had arrived in Malaysia on May 25 to participate in the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on May 26 and 27. During his stay, the Sultan experienced fatigue and was admitted to IJN for rest and recovery starting May 27.
