Sultan Nazrin Receives Over RM3 Million Business Zakat from Four Corporations

Kuala Kangsar: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, received business zakat totaling RM3,064,237.08 from four corporate entities for the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) at the Iskandariah Palace today. Sultan Nazrin personally received the zakat payment, which was handed over by Ahmad Nazim Md Tajuri, the General Manager of the Single Business Unit (SBU) of MAIPk’s Zakat and Wakaf Collection, during the event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, the Perak Crown Prince Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and the Raja Di Hilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah were also present at the ceremony. The Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin attended the event as well.

The zakat handover ceremony was initiated by Syarikat BELATI, represented by its director Mohamad Akmal Datuk Johari, with a contribution of RM885,000. Johawaki Plantation Sdn Bhd, represented by Chief Operating Officer Anizam Bakar, followed with a zakat payment of RM290,000. The Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation, represented by Mohd Azhar Mohd Yusof in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer, contributed RM1,089,237.08.

In addition, the Perak State Secretary Corporation Darul Ridzuan, represented by Acting Chief Executive Officer Zulkefli Abdullah, handed over zakat amounting to RM800,000. Subsequently, Sultan Nazrin agreed to transfer the zakat to the President of MAIPk, Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.

Following the zakat handover, Sultan Nazrin joined the attendees in breaking his fast and performing maghrib, isyak, and tarawih prayers in congregation. The event included guests from the State Executive Council, Orang Besar Perak, Members of the Senate, State Legislative Assembly Members, and heads of state, federal, and statutory departments.
