Sultan Nazrin Graces Perak State Deepavali Celebration

Kuala lumpur: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, along with the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, attended the Perak State Deepavali Celebration held at Stadium Indera Mulia. The event took place tonight and was marked by the presence of various dignitaries.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was also graced by the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and the Raja Di Hilir, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah. Their Royal Highnesses arrived at approximately 8.30 pm and were welcomed by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and A. Sivanesan, the State Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs, and National Integration Committee chairman.

The celebration, organised by the state government, attracted a crowd of about 10,000 individuals from multiple ethnic backgrounds. Attendees enjoyed a festive atmosphere complemented by a variety of traditional dishes. Sultan Nazrin took the opportunity during the event to present contributions to 70 orphans from several welfare homes.

In his speech, Saarani encouraged the attendees to use the Deepavali celebration as a moment for self-reflection. He emphasized the importance of reigniting the light of compassion and humanity in their hearts. Saarani stated, ‘People must embrace the value of caring affection as their guiding light and unity as their beacon so that the state and nation will shine brightly with peace and harmony.’
