Perak: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today graced the presentation ceremony of the King's Scout Award, Decorations, Medals and Certificates for the Perak branch of the Scouts Association of Malaysia (PPM). Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and National Chief Scout Maj Gen Prof Datuk Mohd Zin Bidin.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a total of 239 recipients received scout decorations, medals, and certificates from Sultan Nazrin. Among the honored was the Head of the Regional Scout Council (Kwarda) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Mangkubumi Hamemayu Hayuning Bawono Langgeng Ing Mataram, who was conferred the Bintang Semangat Rimba Emas (BSR-E) award. The BSR-E is the third-highest award of the Scouts Association of Malaysia, presented to individuals who have rendered distinguished service to the scout movement.

In his speech, Mohd Zin said the Scouts Association of Malaysia was entering a new phase of transformation that is bolder, more modern, and forward-looking. He stated that Malaysia's standing on the global stage had been strengthened with Kuala Lumpur serving as the headquarters of the World Scout Bureau. 'This places Malaysia at the heart of the global scouting network, creating opportunities for the exchange of expertise, the sharing of best practices and broader collaboration with the worldwide scout fraternity,' he said.

Mohd Zin highlighted that the association's transformation, including its rebranding exercise, new logo, and redesigned uniform, represented more than a cosmetic change, but reflected its confidence in facing future challenges with renewed energy and aspirations. On the Perak branch, he noted that 2026 marks the association's centenary. 'The 100th anniversary of Perak Scouts is a celebration of a century of service and a renewed commitment to continue serving the nation,' he said.
