Manama: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today visited the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain (MOI), here. Sultan Ibrahim, accompanied by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, arrived at the Police Fort at MOI around 12.30 pm (5.30 pm Malaysian time) and were received by Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the visit commenced with the playing of the national anthems of both nations, following which Their Majesties observed a parade. The monarchs then inspected a guard-of-honour in an open-top vehicle, which was succeeded by a silent drill performance and a presentation by the Police Band.
Following the ceremonial activities, Their Majesties proceeded in a special buggy to King Hamad’s Office at the MOI for a brief meeting, which was subsequently followed by lunch at the Officers’ Club. Accompanying Sultan Ibrahim were members of the Johor royal family, including Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj, and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj.
The Malaysian delegation also included prominent figures such as Malaysia’s Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin, and Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain Datuk Shazryll Zahiran. Sultan Ibrahim’s visit to Bahrain follows his recent four-day state visit to Saudi Arabia and marks his sixth state visit, with previous visits to Singapore, China, Brunei, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.
