SUKMA 2026: Zureen Alyssa Finally Clinches First SUKMA Medal With Women’s Masters Win

Sukma: Perlis kegler Zureen Alyssa Qaisara Azlisham finally won her first ever Malaysia Games (SUKMA) medal in style when she emerged triumphant in the women's masters event at Sunway Mega Lanes, Sunway Pyramid here today. The 16-year-old beat Lavinia Kho Jia Jie 2-1 with a score of 160-223, 246-215, and 211-194 in the final, after failing to win any medal in the women's individual, doubles, and team events.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zureen expressed her happiness as she secured a gold medal and her first at SUKMA. She acknowledged her struggles in the individual, doubles, and team events but celebrated her rise to victory. Despite an injury to her right hand due to overuse, she focused on overcoming the pain and performing her best, dedicating her achievement to her coaches.

Meanwhile, Sarawak kegler Ethan Damien Goh Chean Ming secured his second gold of this Games after helping Sarawak win the men's team event yesterday. He defeated his teammate Muhammad Isyraq Iqbal Ramadhan 2-0 (247-209, 245-210) in the men's masters event. Ethan admitted to feeling pressure despite competing against a teammate, yet he remained determined to perform his best in his first Masters category appearance.

As the tenpin bowling competition concluded today, Selangor led the standings with four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, followed by Sarawak with three gold, two silver, and one bronze. Perlis secured the third position with two gold medals, no silver, and one bronze.
