Kuala lumpur: A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the southern Philippines at 11.03 am today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 67 kilometres, approximately 129 kilometres southeast of Bislig, Philippines.
MetMalaysia confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
