Strong Earthquake Hits Minahassa Peninsula, Tremors Felt In Sabah

Minahassa peninsula: A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 was detected on the Minahassa Peninsula, Sulawesi, Indonesia, at 12.25 am today. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported the earthquake's epicenter at coordinates 0.1 degrees South and 120.6 degrees East, with a depth of 10 kilometers, located 116 km northeast of Palu, Indonesia. According to BERNAMA News Agency, tremors were felt in Tawau, Lahad Datu, and Semporna in Sabah. However, the department confirmed that the earthquake posed no tsunami threat to the country.
