Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s property development sector holds great potential for the future, but its success hinges on the significance of strategic collaborations, said Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying. She stated that joint efforts involving the government, industry, and academia are crucial to tackling major challenges and promoting sustainable development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Lim expressed confidence in the bright future of Malaysia’s property development sector. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, industry, and academia to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous Malaysia. Lim delivered these remarks during a keynote address at the CEO Series: Economy and Business Forum 2025 event.

Lim also noted the important role of the annual property developers’ conference in shaping the future of Malaysia’s property development sector. She highlighted that the conference is a testament to Malaysia’s commitment to showcasing its potential on a global stage. With Malaysia set to chair ASEAN in 2025, events like these reinforce the country’s standing as a leader in the region.

Platforms like the CEO Series are seen as crucial for fostering productive dialogue between the government and industry players. These conversations are vital for refining policies and shaping the future. Since its inception in 2016, the CEO Series has been a cornerstone for industries ranging from construction to property development, receiving extensive media coverage and driving meaningful impact.

Lim praised REHDA Institute’s dedication to training, research, and education, particularly its partnerships with universities such as Universiti Malaya, Monash University, and Sunway University. She commended REHDA Institute for ensuring educational programmes remain industry-relevant and urged the continuation of forging partnerships to elevate university capabilities and enhance graduate readiness.
