SPM 2025 Results Showcase Orang Asli Students’ Success and JAKOA’s Commitment

Kuala lumpur: The outstanding achievements of Orang Asli students in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2025 examinations highlight the sustained commitment of the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) and various agencies in advancing the community's educational prospects, according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, emphasized that the success demonstrated equal attention and opportunities for every student, irrespective of their location. "Today, we witnessed a very proud achievement when four Orang Asli students successfully obtained 9A results, while 114 students recorded excellent results of 5A and above, an increase from 87 students last year," he stated. As the overseer of MARA, he expressed pride in the 7,636 SPM candidates from 57 MARA Junior Science Colleges (MRSM), including 80 candidates who achieved all A+ in SPM 2025.

The results from MRSM showcased a College Grade Average (GPM) index of 2.067, with all candidates eligible to receive the examination certificate. Five MRSM institutions ranked among the top overall, surpassing Full Boarding Schools (SBP) and other day schools nationwide.

Ahmad Zahid highlighted the impact of ongoing government initiatives, especially through the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), in narrowing the achievement gap between urban and rural candidates by 0.04 points based on the National Average Grade (GPK). "The government will continue to strengthen the rural education ecosystem, including providing a more conducive learning environment so that every student can achieve their best potential," he added.

He also noted the significant role of institutions like Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and GiatMARA in offering students opportunities to explore their potential through a structured and comprehensive UP_TVET ecosystem. "Today, TVET is no longer a second choice, but has become the new mainstream in building a skilled, high-income workforce that is relevant to future industry needs. In fact, 53.9 per cent of SPM graduates chose the TVET route," Ahmad Zahid remarked.

In conclusion, he congratulated all SPM 2025 candidates for their achievements, attributing the success to the hard work of students, dedication of educators, and the continuous support of parents. "This year's performance is very encouraging when a total of 13,779 candidates managed to record excellent results by obtaining Grades A+, A and A- in all subjects," he said.
