Kuala lumpur: The Election Commission (EC) is set to convene a special meeting on June 12 to deliberate on the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election. This meeting is aligned with the special meeting for the 16th Johor state election, following the dissolution of the 15th Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly last Friday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, EC Secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus announced that the meeting would be chaired by EC Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun. The agenda includes determining crucial dates for the Negeri Sembilan state election, such as the date of the writ of election, nomination day, polling day, and the electoral roll to be used. Other necessary preparations for conducting the election will also be discussed.

Khairul Shahril stated that a press conference would take place immediately after the special meeting to inform the public of the decisions made. The 36-seat Negeri Sembilan assembly was officially dissolved last Friday, setting the stage for the upcoming election.
