Nilai: A social media influencer confessed to the charge of trespassing into a house during a hearing in the Sessions Court today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nurul Nur Ariani Muhammad Zahar, 41, faced charges of criminal trespass for her unauthorized entry into a residence in Kampung Chelet, Nilai, at 5 pm on May 7. This offense is outlined under Section 447 of the Penal Code, which stipulates a maximum penalty of six months imprisonment, a fine of up to RM3,000, or both, if found guilty.
During the proceedings, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadia Ezzati Mohd Zainal recommended a bail of RM8,000 and sought a future date for presenting the case details and sentencing. However, lawyer K. Gejalaxmi from the National Legal Aid Foundation, who represented Nurul Nur Ariani, argued for a more affordable bail. She highlighted her client’s limited income as a self-employed individual who is also financially responsible for her hospitalized father, four children, and a sibling.
Taking these circumstances into account, the court set the bail at RM2,500 with one surety and scheduled the next case mention, including the presentation of facts and sentencing, for June 19.
