Shah alam: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Shah Alam lived up to expectations when they clinched the Charity Shield in the Datuk Mokhtar Dahari Cup football tournament for the Under-18 category after trouncing SMK Datuk Harun 5-1 at the Section 19 synthetic pitch here today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, SMK Shah Alam, coached by Osmera Omaro, shot into the lead after just four minutes through winger Vincenzo Oliveo Donny before doubling their lead six minutes later through Muhammad Hadif Mohammad Hazzuar. Vincenzo was back on target in the 16th minute before Muhammad Danish Harith Muhammad Zakri made it 4-0 for SMK Shah Alam three minutes later.
The SMK Datuk Harun team managed to get a goal back in the 32nd minute through Muhammad Danial Azfar, trailing SMK Shah Alam 1-4 at the break. SMK Shah Alam then took their foot off the gas in the second half but still managed to complete the rout with a Muhammad Danish Harith strike in the 51st minute.
“We are not surprised by this emphatic win as we were confident going into the game. We hope to keep our momentum going in the coming matches,” said coach Osmera.
