SMK Bandar Seri Putra to Gain 10 New Classrooms to Tackle Overcrowding

Selangor: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced plans to build 10 additional classrooms at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Seri Putra in Selangor. This initiative aims to address the issue of overcrowding at the school, which has been a concern for both students and educators.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek revealed that the classrooms would be constructed using the Industrialised Building System (IBS). This method is chosen for its efficiency and ability to deliver results in a short span of time. Additionally, the MOE is planning to construct a two-storey building at the school using the same IBS method to further alleviate the overcrowding problem.

Minister Fadhlina highlighted that the current overcrowded conditions have impacted the comfort and effectiveness of teaching and learning sessions. She confirmed that she has evaluated the situation firsthand and held discussions with relevant stakeholders, including the school management, the Selangor State Education Department, the Public Works Department, and the MOE Development Division.

Fadhlina also emphasized the importance of proactive management within school administrations and urged the District Education Office and the State Education Department to avoid a reactive approach that responds only when issues become viral. She stressed the need for fast, clear, and responsive actions to public complaints to manage expectations and community needs effectively.

The issue of overcrowding at schools has been a topic of concern among social media users, who have expressed their hopes for a swift resolution to ensure a conducive learning environment for students.
