Perak: Landowners across Perak now have the opportunity to own an affordable home through the Skim Rumah Ibu, which offers eight residential models priced between RM98,000 and RM238,000 per unit.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the founder and president of Rumah Ibu Sdn Bhd, Datuk Sr Dr Kamarul Rashdan Salleh, stated that the company is prepared to build the most affordable homes, starting with the 540-square-foot (sq ft) Fusion model. Priced at RM98,000, this model includes two bedrooms and one bathroom.
Kamarul Rashdan highlighted that the pricing of models aligns with Rumah Ibu’s commitment as a social enterprise to support community growth and enhance quality of life by providing affordable homes with inclusive support services. Since the scheme’s launch in February 2024, 244 landowners have registered, with ongoing inquiries, particularly for the Elation model (RM138,000), which features a 750-sq ft unit with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The Evolution model, priced at RM141,000, is another popular choice, offering 755 sq ft of space with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The scheme also includes other models such as Compression, Impression, Impassion, Devotion, and Obsession, catering to various needs and preferences.
The Compression model is available at RM111,000, featuring 590 sq ft, three bedrooms, and one bathroom. The Impression model, priced at RM148,000, offers 795 sq ft, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Further options include the Impassion model (RM171,000; 900 sq ft; three bedrooms, two bathrooms), Devotion model (RM198,000; 1,050 sq ft; four bedrooms, three bathrooms), and Obsession model (RM238,000; 1,252 sq ft; four bedrooms, three bathrooms).
Kamarul Rashdan noted that the scheme targets landowners in 66 RPT areas across Perak, involving 6,995 lots, with a goal of constructing 1,000 units annually. He explained that the average construction period for a Rumah Ibu home ranges from four to six months, depending on the model, weather conditions, location, and approval from local authorities.
The Fusion model can be completed within a month, while the largest model, Obsession, takes two months due to the use of Industrialised Building System technology. However, the actual duration may extend due to the local authority approval process, which typically takes between three to six months.
