Bandar puncak alam: The construction of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Eco Grandeur in Bandar Puncak Alam is expected to be fully completed by the end of next year, with the school set to begin operations in the third quarter of 2028 and accommodate about 960 pupils in one session.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Eco World Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye announced that the RM18 million project, built on a 6.6-hectare site, was implemented through a donation-and-build initiative by developer Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE).
Lee highlighted the significance of educational institutions in community development, stating that for families in Eco Grandeur and the wider Puncak Alam community, this school will become an important part of their children's daily lives and their hopes for the future. His remarks were made during the groundbreaking ceremony of SJK (C) Eco Grandeur, officiated by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
The new school is equipped with 24 classrooms and various supporting facilities, including a multi-purpose hall, covered sports court, and canteen. The architectural design incorporates a continuous ramp system to enhance accessibility for persons with disabilities (PwDs), alongside a library-in-a-garden concept and environmentally friendly features.
Lee emphasized the school's mission to welcome, support, and empower every child to learn and grow with dignity. Initial site preparation works, including land clearing and piling, had already commenced following official approval earlier this year. The developer is confident that the construction phase will proceed smoothly and be completed according to the set schedule.
The MOE is expected to take an estimated three to six months to complete the necessary documentation and registration processes after the building handover. The ministry will collaborate with the District Education Office to coordinate the enrolment of Year One to Year Six pupils from nearby areas ahead of the school's opening.
