Sabah: Siti Norjahera Beliamor, a sixteen-year-old from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Batu Sapi, captured attention at the 2025 Malaysian Open Athletics Championship by securing second place in the women’s 200 metres sprint at Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Siti Norjahera completed the race in 25.54 seconds, finishing behind national sprinter Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli, who represented Kedah and clocked a time of 24.57 seconds. Adriana Shahryll Nizam from Negeri Sembilan came in third with a time of 26.09 seconds.
Siti Norjahera expressed her pride in competing alongside Zaidatul Husniah, a seasoned athlete she has admired since her youth. Despite limited rest following the MSSM meet, Siti noted that her continuous training maintained her performance. She voiced satisfaction with her close finish behind her idol and expressed confidence in improving with adequate rest.
The Malaysian Open Athletics Championship features 658 athletes from 19 domestic teams and participants from 10 foreign countries, including Algeria, China, Japan, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.
