Six-Year-Old Girl Dies in Devastating Tambunan House Fire

Tambunan: A six-year-old girl tragically lost her life in a fire that ravaged two houses in Kampung Patau, Tambunan, early today. The fire struck at approximately 4 am, leading to the young girl's death as she was found burnt in one of the houses involved.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre released a statement confirming the discovery of the girl's charred remains in a room within the house. The fire also resulted in injuries to a 31-year-old woman, identified as the victim's aunt, who was injured while attempting to escape. She was subsequently transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Operations Centre received an emergency call at 4.08 am, mobilizing eight firefighters from the Tambunan Fire and Rescue Station. The team swiftly responded, reaching the location, approximately 16 kilometers away, within 18 minutes. Additionally, three vehicles were destroyed in the blaze, compounding the tragedy of the incident.
