Sabah: The situation in landslide and flood-affected areas of Sabah is improving with all victims in Beaufort and Sipitang allowed to return home this morning, while conditions in Penampang, Papar, and Membakut remain affected. The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) reported a significant decrease in the number of evacuees residing in temporary relief centers.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the number of evacuees has dropped sharply to 1,476 people from 459 families, compared with 2,256 people from 710 families yesterday evening. A total of 13 relief centers remain open — six in Membakut housing 738 flood victims from 247 families, six in Penampang with 493 victims of floods and landslides from 141 families, and one in Papar sheltering 245 flood victims from 71 families.

Fifty-three villages are still affected this morning, compared to 120 yesterday evening, with 24 in Penampang, 20 in Papar, and nine in Membakut. In Sarawak, the state JPBN reported that 13 people from three families remain at the Dewan Suarah Marudi relief center as of 9 am.

According to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) Public Info Banjir portal, river levels at Long Teru and Marudi stations in Miri, as well as Lubok Piasau II in Limbang, have receded slightly due to fine weather but remain above the danger mark.
