Kuala Lumpur: The Servis Ihsan MADANI@Petronas AutoExpert (SIM@PAX) pilot project, which involves 95 PAX service centres across the nation, is set to commence this Friday, from January 24 to 28. Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, announced this initiative under the MADANI Rahmah Umbrella, aimed at providing low-income groups with special discounts ranging from 10 to 30 percent on the purchase of mineral and semi-synthetic engine oils at participating PAX outlets.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the SIM@PAX pilot project is being implemented in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration and is slated to continue during all major festive seasons in Malaysia. These include Aidilfitri, Aidiladha, Kaamatan Festival, Gawai Day, Deepavali, Christmas, and National Day. Datuk Armizan emphasized the program’s objective to assist low-income groups in managing the rising cost of living by reducing vehicle maintenance expenses.
The targeted groups can schedule an appointment through the mobile Setel app before visiting any participating PAX centre to avail themselves of the service. During a press conference, Datuk Armizan highlighted this initiative after delivering the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living’s (KPDN) New Year’s Message and Direction for 2025.
In his earlier speech, Armizan outlined the KPDN Direction for 2025, which is based on four main focuses, abbreviated as K.P.D.N. This stands for Ketangkasan Penguatkuasaan (Enforcement Agility), Pemacu Ekonomi Domestik (Domestic Economic Driver), Daya Upaya Pengguna dan Advokasi Kepenggunaan (Consumer Empowerment and Consumerism Advocacy), and NACCOL (National Cost of Living Action Council Executive Committee).
To strategically achieve K.P.D.N’s goals, Armizan stated that these four focuses would be propelled through four core pillars known as K.I.T.A, representing Keterangkuman Kerajaan dan Kecemerlangan (Government Inclusivity and Excellence), Iltizam Industri (Industry Commitment), Tekad Tatakelola (Governance Pledge), and Aspirasi dan Partisipasi Awam (Public Aspirations and Participation).
