Sidec Launches Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme To Boost Local Start-ups, SMEs

Shah alam: The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) has unveiled the 2025 edition of the Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme, designed to scale Malaysia’s promising startups and SMEs in deep tech and consumer-focused sectors. This dual-track initiative includes the Selangor Deep Tech Xccelerator Programme (Deep-X) and the Selangor Retail Tech Xccelerator Programme (Retail-X).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sidec’s CEO, Yong Kai Ping, emphasized the programme’s goal to assist high-potential ventures in expanding globally by building an integrated ecosystem that supports founders. The initiative is backed by a network of capital providers, technology enablers, and academic institutions, guiding participants from ideation to market expansion.

Venture capital partners like Artem Ventures, Gobi Partners, and others are involved, along with equity crowdfunding platforms such as pitchIN and Ata Plus. Technology partners include Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud, providing digital infrastructure support. Universities and academic institutions also play a role in providing research expertise and talent development.

The programme’s launch aligns with Sidec’s 10th anniversary, marking its support for over 320 startups and facilitating RM203 million in fundraising. The Twin Accelerator is part of Sidec’s plan to nurture 500 startups by 2030, aligning with Selangor and Malaysia’s digital economy goals.

Deep-X targets AI-driven deep tech startups in sectors such as agritech and healthtech, offering mentorship and investor engagement over a 12-week programme. Top performers will have the opportunity to participate in an international mission to Silicon Valley.

Applications for Deep-X are open until July 20, 2025, while Retail-X focuses on consumer SMEs in fashion and lifestyle, culminating in a Final Demo Day with cash prizes and exposure. Retail-X applications close on July 13, 2025.
