Shuttle Service Now Available At Darul Qiyam Complex For Travellers To Thailand

Bukit kayu hitam: Those wishing to travel to Thailand via the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security Complex (ICQS) can now use a shuttle service at the Darul Qiyam Complex here. Haramain Holidays and Transport executive officer Mohd Yazwandi Datuk Seri Yaacob said the service, which has been in operation since April, aims to facilitate cross-border travel.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Border-to-Border Shuttle Van service between Malaysia and Thailand operates from the Darul Qiyam Complex, where the public can park their vehicles and use the shuttle to reach the border. This service ensures smoother travel to and from the neighbouring country by using the bus and tourist van lanes at the ICQS Bukit Kayu Hitam. Private vehicles may face congestion due to heavy traffic.

The initiative also benefits visitors from Thailand, contributing to the growth of tourism in Malaysia. ‘We hope this service will boost both Visit Kedah Year 2025 and Visit Malaysia Year 2026,’ Mohd Yazwandi added.

Ticket prices are RM10 for adults, RM5 for children, senior citizens, and people with disabilities (PwD), while children under three travel for free. Mohd Yazwandi added that the new parking area at the Darul Qiyam Complex is able to accommodate over 800 vehicles and is equipped with a 24-hour surveillance system.

‘We have set up a ticket counter, waiting area, barrier system for parking, and CCTV cameras to ensure security for those using the shuttle service to the border,’ he said.
