Tokyo:The "TOKYO MANGA BASE" is hosting an international online sales event along with a pop-up showcasing a curated selection of manga art products. This includes original manga illustrations and full-color artwork.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the pop-up event, titled the TOKYO MANGA BASE Shogakukan Manga Art Collection, is being held from September 20 to 29 at the Ginza Atrium inside Ginza Tsutaya Books in Tokyo.
The event features fine art reproductions of original manga artwork from popular titles such as "Frieren Beyond Journey's End" and "BANANA FISH," as well as Metal Canvas Art. These reproductions and Metal Canvas Art were previously made available only on a made-to-order basis via Shogakukan's official e-commerce site, LIFETUNES MALL.
Over 100 manga art products, including T-shirts and acrylic blocks featuring artwork from Shogakukan's popular manga titles, are available for a limited time. A notable exhibit is the fine art reproduction of the special illustration "Frieren Beyond Journey's EndVermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring," created for the Vermeer exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka.
In a new initiative, selected products from the event are also accessible via the TOKYO MANGA BASE international online store, with sales continuing until October 19. This marks the first time fine art reproductions of original manga artwork are available to international customers through TOKYO MANGA BASE.
The online store caters to customers in 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. TOKYO MANGA BASE specializes in original merchandise centered on officially licensed manga properties, operating pop-up shops both within Japan and overseas.
