Sharjah Deputy Ruler Explores Shanghai’s Film and Sports Arenas

Shanghai: Sharjah Deputy Ruler and Sharjah Media Council Chairman, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, recently embarked on a visit to the expansive 800,000-square-metre Shanghai Film Studios and Film Park located in Shidon, Shanghai.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the visit included a presentation of a video detailing the studio's specifications, which feature four professional studios ranging from 800 to 3,000 square metres, a comprehensive costume warehouse, and various production support facilities. Sheikh Sultan was briefed on the filmmaking processes and the incorporation of artificial intelligence-driven production technologies during his tour of the sound recording rooms, image quality control, and post-production facilities.

Sheikh Sultan also explored Shanghai Film Park, which offers a range of fully equipped filming locations. His tour included the 'Babeling Well Road' filming site and the 'Zhejiang Road Bridge' location, rebuilt to mirror historic bridge designs. While visiting the park, he took advantage of viewing the classic car exhibition, an essential resource for film and television productions. His journey through the park was conducted via a train reminiscent of the one used in the town during the 1930s, where he reviewed the park's main events and services.

Earlier in his visit, Sheikh Sultan visited the Shanghai Football Club Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000 spectators. He examined various sections of the stadium, including media facilities and the club's communication systems, which utilize digital platforms, social media, and interactive technologies to engage with fans. At the Shanghai Football Club Museum, Sheikh Sultan observed the advanced digital archiving systems and interactive displays that highlight the club's history and achievements.

The visits concluded with an exchange of gifts and commemorative shields. Sheikh Sultan highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation and sharing expertise in areas such as sports, media and technical management, content creation, and film production. Accompanying him on this trip were senior officials from the Sharjah Media Council, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Sharjah Media City.
