Sharjah Deputy Ruler Explores Shanghai Film and Sports Facilities

Shanghai: Sharjah Deputy Ruler and Sharjah Media Council Chairman, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, recently embarked on an insightful visit to the sprawling 800,000-square-metre Shanghai Film Studios and Film Park located in the town of Shidon, Shanghai. During this visit, Sheikh Sultan was presented with a video detailing the studio's impressive specifications, which include four professional studios ranging from 800 to 3,000 square metres, a comprehensive costume warehouse, and a suite of production support facilities featuring classic cars and integrated production services.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sheikh Sultan was briefed on the filmmaking processes and the integration of artificial intelligence-driven production technologies. His tour included sound recording rooms, image quality control facilities, and post-production areas. He also explored Shanghai Film Park, which offers a variety of filming locations. During his tour, Sheikh Sultan visited the 'Babeling Well Road' filming site and viewed the 'Zhejiang Road Bridge' location, a structure rebuilt to emulate historic bridge designs.

Sheikh Sultan also had the opportunity to explore the park's classic car exhibition, which serves as a significant resource for film and television productions. He toured the park aboard a train modeled on those used in the town during the 1930s and reviewed the park's key events and services. Earlier in his visit, Sheikh Sultan examined the Shanghai Football Club Stadium, with its impressive capacity for 80,000 spectators. He reviewed the stadium's sections, media facilities, and the club's communication systems with fans through digital platforms, social media, and interactive technologies.

At the Shanghai Football Club Museum, Sheikh Sultan observed the advanced digital archiving systems and interactive displays that document the club's history and achievements. The visits concluded with an exchange of gifts and commemorative shields, where Sheikh Sultan highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation and sharing expertise in sports, media and technical management, content creation, and film production. Accompanying him were senior officials from the Sharjah Media Council, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Sharjah Media City.
