Kuala lumpur: The Sewage Treatment Plant (LRK) at Taman Widuri Indah, where a boy is believed to have fallen and drowned yesterday, has been decommissioned since 2015. In a statement today, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd clarified that the site is no longer under its operation or maintenance after being handed over to the relevant authorities once decommissioned.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, IWK emphasized its readiness to cooperate with authorities should any information be required regarding the incident. The company also urged the public to avoid trespassing into sewage treatment plant areas due to their restricted and hazardous nature.
The incident, reported yesterday, involved a 12-year-old boy who drowned after allegedly falling into the facility while fishing with his two younger siblings. IWK has expressed its condolences and sympathies to the victim's family during this challenging time.
