Seven Killed, 14 Injured In Road Accident In South-eastern Myanmar

YANGON– Seven people were killed and 14 others injured, in a traffic accident yesterday afternoon, in south-eastern Myanmar’s Kayin state, according to the state’s police force.

 

The accident took place near the descending arch of the betel nut farm, on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road, when a Hiace car, carrying 21 passengers heading towards Myawaddy township, hit another Hiace car, loading food products, heading for Kawkareik.

 

The vehicle collision killed seven on the spot, and 14 others were injured. The bodies and injured were sent to Myawaddy General Hospital.

 

Earlier this month, 11 people were killed and several others were injured, after a six-wheeled vehicle overturned on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road, due to brake failure.
