Bukit kayu hitam: Seven foreign nationals were denied entry into the country after failing to comply with entry requirements at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex here yesterday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bukit Kayu Hitam Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) commander SAC Mohd Nasarudin Md Nasir stated that a Cambodian woman in her 30s was refused entry at 11.30am due to doubtful and inconsistent travel information provided.
He also reported that similar action was taken at about 11pm against six men from India, in their 40s, who failed to provide a credible purpose of travel to Immigration officers. Further checks revealed they possessed invalid flight tickets and attempted to mislead officers by claiming they did not know one another, although investigations revealed that all of them held flight tickets with the same date and time.
All seven individuals were issued Notices of Refusal of Entry in accordance with immigration laws, before further action was taken based on standard operating procedures (SOPs). SAC Mohd Nasarudin emphasized that there will be no compromise with any individual who fails to comply with the country's entry requirements, ensuring the safety and sovereignty of the borders are preserved.
