Seven Areas In Sarawak Record Unhealthy API

Sarawak: Seven areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) readings due to transboundary haze as of 8 am this morning, compared to nine areas yesterday morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) reported that the areas with unhealthy API readings include Samarahan and Serian, both at 183, followed by Kuching at 177, Sri Aman at 159, Sarikei at 158, and Mukah and Sibu both at 152.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and an API above 300 is considered hazardous.

The API data is released hourly and is based on readings from 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
