Seremban 2 Hockey Stadium Upgrade Project Set to Begin in May

Seremban: The project to upgrade the Haji Mohd Said Hockey Stadium in Seremban 2, Negeri Sembilan, is expected to commence in May. This timeline is contingent upon the completion of the tender evaluation process and the appointment of a contractor.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) announced in a statement that the project tender was issued on December 24, 2025, with the tender advertisement closing on February 12. The statement highlighted that the project had faced delays due to several coordination processes involving various stakeholders.

The processes required for the project include land surveying, specification amendments, and the finalization of the concept design, which requires customer confirmation before the tender can be executed. KBS emphasized that all these processes must align with the approved budget ceiling.

The project will be implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR) as the executing agency, while KBS will oversee progress to ensure a smooth implementation within the set timeline. KBS expressed hope that upon completion, the project will benefit the people, especially in Negeri Sembilan, and promote the development of sports, particularly hockey.

KBS also reiterated its commitment to promoting and cultivating sports in alignment with the aspirations of MADANI Malaysia for a healthy and active nation. Previously, the media reported that the stadium had been closed since 2020 due to the dilapidated condition of the artificial turf, underground drainage system, and floodlights, rendering it unsuitable for training or matches. In February 2024, KBS announced a budget allocation of RM5 million for the stadium's upgrade.
