Kuala lumpur: Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Seri R Ramanan, has called on Malaysians to celebrate Malaysia Day with a profound spirit of patriotism, expressing gratitude for the nation’s journey built on courage, diversity, and unity. He emphasised that Sept 16 is far more than a date on the calendar; it is a reflection of the enduring struggle to build a united nation under the Jalur Gemilang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ramanan stated, “Today, we stand as Malaysians, born from courage, raised in diversity, and united under the majestic Jalur Gemilang.” He highlighted the uniqueness of Malaysia, noting the diverse communities including Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, Orang Asli, and others. Ramanan underscored that these differences serve as strengths, contributing to Malaysia’s unique identity.
Ramanan described Malaysia Day as a reflection of an unyielding spirit, a resolve that always believes in hope, and a unity that remains steadfast despite challenges and attempts at division. He expressed a personal connection to the country, stating, “I am a child of Malaysia. We are all children of Malaysia. This is our homeland, this is our identity. As long as the Jalur Gemilang flies, the unity and spirit of Malaysia will continue to live in our souls.”
He concluded his message with a call to unity, wishing Malaysians a Happy Malaysia Day 2025 and affirming the shared identity represented by the Malaysian flag.
