Selangor To Host World’s Top AI, Semiconductor Experts At SDEC 2025

Selangor: Selangor is set to take centre stage in global technology as it welcomes the world’s leading experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors at the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) 2025, from Oct 8 to 11.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) announced that the convention, themed ‘AI x Semiconductor: Blitzscaling Malaysia’s Deep Tech’, will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and Grand Hyatt. The event signifies Selangor’s bold ambition to accelerate Malaysia’s digital economy and position itself as a regional hub for deep-tech innovation.

Sidec stated that as one of the flagship events under the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025, SDEC enhances the state’s global reputation by uniting technology, innovation, and investment on a single platform. Sidec’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yong Kai Ping emphasized the convention as a meeting ground for Malaysia and the world, with Selangor leading the nation’s deep-tech journey by gathering global experts, investors, and innovators.

The opening day of the convention on Oct 8 will highlight the country’s next-generation innovators, featuring the Final Demo Day for Retail-X and Deep-X participants, part of Sidec’s flagship Twin Accelerator Programme. These startups and SMEs will present their solutions to investors, corporate partners, and ecosystem leaders, demonstrating Selangor’s dedication to nurturing high-growth enterprises.

On Oct 9, the Semiconductor Summit will host world-class leaders, including former chief technology officer of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) Prof Jack Sun and vice-president of sales for Synopsys Robert Li. The main keynote will be delivered by Jim Keller, CEO of Tenstorrent, with a special address by CK Tseng, president of Arm ASEAN and vice president of North America Sales.

The AI Innovation Summit, scheduled for the third day of the convention, will feature cutting-edge innovators like Cortical Labs CEO Dr Hon Weng Chong and FuriosaAI founder June Paik. They will be joined by global investors such as 500 Global and Plug and Play APAC, as well as pioneers from YTL AI Labs and other leading AI entities.

The Malaysia Semiconductor Recruitment Day (MSRD), the nation’s largest career fair for semiconductor engineers, will run throughout the four-day convention. MSRD will include global leaders like AMD and Infineon Technologies, collaborating with homegrown champions such as Maistorage Technology and Cortical Labs.
