Selangor: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, graced the Closing Ceremony of the Selangor State-Level Al-Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly for the year 1446H/2025 here today. Their Royal Highnesses arrived at the Lecture and Islamic Discussion Hall of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, where they were welcomed by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad announced the results of the competition, which involved 52 participants from across Selangor. The assembly, held from February 4 until today, featured participants who were selected at the district level and further trained at the Selangor Al-Quran Literacy Academy (ALAS) to enhance their skills.

Khairul Zaki Razali, 44, emerged as the champion of the Al-Quran Recitation and was selected as the overall best participant. He took home a prize of RM20,000, a plaque, and a certificate.

The award for the overall best participant in Al-Quran Memorisation, covering Juz’ 1 to 30, went to Humairourrohman Mastor, 22. He received a prize of RM15,000, a plaque, and a certificate.

Both winners will represent Selangor at the national-level Al-Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly, scheduled to take place from April 24 to May 3 in Perlis.
