Selangor Sultan Officiates Opening Of Klang Chinese Muslim Jamek Mosque.

KLANG: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, accompanied by the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, officiated the opening of the Klang Chinese Muslim Jamek Mosque here today. Their Royal Highnesses’ arrival at 6 pm was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ceremony was also attended by several notable figures including Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, and Selangor state secretary Datuk Haris Kasim. During the event, Sultan Sharafuddin emphasized the importance of preventing deviant teachings from taking root in the mosque, which he expressed as a significant concern that could potentially divide the unity of Muslims.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance
of the mosque not only as a symbol of unity but also as a prominent landmark and tourist attraction. He expressed his hope that the construction of various houses of worship in Klang would foster understanding and mutual respect among different faiths in the region and beyond.

Furthermore, Sultan Sharafuddin urged Muslims in Selangor to pay attention to Friday sermons, which he described as a vital medium for conveying the voice of the caliph to the Muslim community. He stressed the role of sermons in promoting harmony, mutual respect, and unity among Muslims.

At the event, the Sultan also presented awards to several mosques for their exemplary contributions in various categories. The 2024 Selangor Best Mosque Award was conferred upon Masjid Al-Hasanah, Bandar Baru Bangi, Sepang, which was also recognized as a Green Mosque at the national level.
