Sungai Besar:Religious school teachers under the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) have been encouraged to enhance their dakwah efforts both in schools and within communities throughout the state.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari emphasized the significant role of approximately 8,000 registered religious teachers in primary and secondary schools in the state. Many of these teachers also have the credentials to teach in mosques and conduct academic programs.
Amirudin suggested that religious teachers' involvement in dakwah activities is vital and highlighted the potential benefits of incorporating modern technology, such as artificial intelligence, to aid their efforts. These advancements could support their work not only in educational settings but also within the broader community.
During the Selangor State Islamic Education Teachers' Premier Ijtimak Programme 2026 at Dewan Seri Bernam, Sungai Besar, Amirudin stressed the importance of religious teachers in providing a comprehensive understanding of Islamic teachings and various life aspects, including Islamic transactions, zakat, and property distribution.
He also welcomed collaboration with Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) to strengthen dakwah programs across Selangor's districts, aiming to reach all societal levels. Amirudin noted that successful dakwah does not necessarily require special modules but should focus on a streamlined approach to foster a well-organized and harmonious community.
Amirudin concluded by emphasizing that effective dakwah involves active community engagement, ensuring the religious teachers fulfill their responsibilities to all Muslims while promoting a cohesive society.
