Selangor Implements Over RM5 Bln Investment Projects From PM’s Promotions Abroad

Selangor: A total of nine investment projects worth RM5.52 billion have been implemented in Selangor as a result of overseas promotions by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as of October 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Investment, Trade and Mobility executive council member Ng Sze Han stated that the projects were expected to create 1,300 jobs in key sectors such as electrical and electronics (E and E), food manufacturing, logistics, and digital technology.

Ng highlighted that between 2023 and 2025, the Prime Minister led 33 investment promotion missions to 23 countries, successfully generating potential investments worth RM493.58 billion. As of January 2025, investments worth RM123.8 billion have been approved nationwide, and by October, a total of nine investment projects worth RM5.52 billion have been realised in Selangor. He provided this information at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting while responding to a question by Chua Wei Kiat (PH-Rawang) regarding the realised investments in Selangor due to the Prime Minister’s overseas promotions.

Ng elaborated that approved investment projects typically take between 18 and 24 months to be realised, depending on the scale of the project and economic conditions. He explained that realised projects refer to those that have started operating, are under construction, or are in the process of installing machinery and equipment.

Additionally, Ng mentioned that most of the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed during promotional missions abroad, such as the World Expo Osaka 2025 and through internal state initiatives, align with the Prime Minister’s efforts to attract foreign investments. He noted that the MoU at the federal level is coordinated by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority.
