Selangor Aims For A Spectacular Islamic Solidarity Games In 2029

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia, through the state of Selangor, is looking forward to host a spectacular Islamic Solidarity Games in 2029.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Olympic Council of Malaysia secretary-general Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali expressed the council’s hopes to collaborate closely with Selangor and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) to organize the Games, highlighting Malaysian hospitality. This event is seen as a significant milestone for the Islamic sports movement in Malaysia.

Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali conveyed gratitude on behalf of OCM president and Olympic Council of Asia vice president for Southeast Asia zone Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria. He thanked ISSA, under the leadership of Prince Abdulaziz Turki Al-Faisal, for selecting Malaysia and Selangor to host the seventh Islamic Solidarity Games in 2029.

The hosting rights for the 2029 Islamic Solidarity Games were awarded to Malaysia and Selangor during ISSA’s 14th general assembly on October 8.

A symbolic handover ceremony took place at the closing ceremony of the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games held at the Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During the ceremony, SOPC vice president and chairman of the supreme organizing committee of the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games Prince Fahd Jalawi Abdulaziz Musaed transferred the ISSA Flag to Prince Abdulaziz.

Subsequently, Prince Abdulaziz handed the ISSA Flag to the Selangor State Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi and Mohd Nasir, marking the official handover of the responsibility to host the next Islamic Solidarity Games.
