Johor: The seizure of a container suspected of carrying military cargo linked to Israel at Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) reflects Malaysia's firm stance against any form of support for Zionist activities, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hasan. He emphasized that this action aligns with Malaysia's religious and national principles to protect sovereignty and prevent exploitation by illegal regimes.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) detained and inspected the container on August 7 due to suspicions of contravening Malaysian export prohibitions. The agency indicated that the shipment violated Item 15 of the Second Schedule of the Customs (Prohibition of Exports) Order 2023, which bans the export of goods to Israel, adhering to national policy.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim commended AKPS for its prompt action in seizing the container. Dr. Zulkifli urged Malaysians to support the government's stance in solidarity with Palestine, opposing any attempt to smuggle military support cargo to Israel.
