SEDA Malaysia Enhances Information Delivery on Renewable Energy Through Media Collaboration

Putrajaya:The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia is dedicated to improving the distribution of information about the renewable energy (RE) sector to the public.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, SEDA Malaysia has launched a Bowling Friendly Programme in collaboration with the Putrajaya Media Club (KMP) and other media practitioners. This initiative, officiated by SEDA's Chief Operating Officer, Koh Keng Sen, aims to appreciate the local media's support and their role in rapidly disseminating news via traditional and digital platforms.

SEDA Malaysia hopes to strengthen its relationship with KMP through this programme, which will aid in expanding information dissemination about the RE sector. The initiative also aims to ensure that key projects and training programmes are effectively communicated to the public, thereby increasing awareness of Malaysia's sustainable energy developments.

Furthermore, SEDA Malaysia's Chief Strategy Officer, Saiful Hakim Abdul Rahman, previously noted that Malaysia needs an additional RE installed capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 megawatts (MW) to meet the goal of 35 percent RE installed capacity by 2030. As of June, Malaysia's RE installed capacity had reached nearly 32 percent, with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof affirming the country's progress towards the 2030 target.

SEDA Malaysia, established under the SEDA Act 2011 [Act 726] as a federal statutory body, operates under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) to advance the renewable energy and energy efficiency agenda.
