SEDA Appoints Public Service Department DG As Chairman


Kuala Lumpur: The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia has appointed Public Service Department Director-General Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz as chairman effective May 15.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, SEDA expressed its enthusiasm for Wan Ahmad Dahlan’s leadership in steering the national sustainable energy agenda towards achieving the 70 per cent targeted renewable energy capacity mix by 2050. Wan Ahmad Dahlan has been part of SEDA as a member since August 2024.



With over 30 years of experience in public service, Wan Ahmad Dahlan has held various significant positions, including Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja at Istana Negara, Secretary-General of the Home Affairs Ministry, and Director-General of the Implementation Coordination Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department. His career also spans roles in several agencies under the Transport and Home Affairs Ministries.



Wan Ahmad Dahlan is an alumnus of Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Honours). He also holds a Master’s degree in Strategic and Defence Studies from Universiti Malaya.



In its statement, SEDA also expressed gratitude to Ahmad Zairin Ismail for his contributions and dedicated service during his tenure as the previous SEDA chairman.
