Kuala Lumpur: A security guard at an entertainment centre suffered a fractured hip after he was hit by a car while trying to break up a fight at Bandar Botanik, Klang early yesterday morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, South Klang district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Foong stated that the victim, 33, was among several security guards who intervened in a brawl between customers. During the altercation, a suspect chose to ram him with a car at approximately 2:30 am. The victim also sustained injuries during the fight.
“The victim was sent to Tunku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang. Besides a fractured right hip, he suffered wounds to his abdomen but is reported to be in stable condition,” ACP Cha Hoong Foong mentioned in a statement today.
The police arrested a 43-year-old man at about 3:30 pm today. The suspect has prior records related to criminal offences and a drug offence.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 and 148 of the Penal Code. The exact cause of the fight remains under investigation.
