Search Underway for Missing Driver After Car Plunges Into River in Pagoh

Pagoh: The driver of a car, in his 40s, remains missing following an incident where the vehicle plunged into Sungai Kampung Tui near the Kampung Kecil bridge along Jalan Bukit Kepong in Pagoh earlier today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pagoh Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, Senior Fire Officer I Nor Alfatah Omar, reported that they received an emergency call about the incident at 3.22 pm. In response, seven firefighters from the Pagoh and Muar stations were deployed to the scene, equipped with a Light Fire Rescue Tender and a Toyota Hilux 4WD.

Upon arriving at the site at approximately 3.51 pm, the rescue team discovered that a Perodua Axia had submerged in the river, which is about two metres deep. Initial information provided by the Royal Malaysia Police suggests that the accident may have taken place the previous day, with a missing adult male believed to be the driver of the vehicle.

The search and rescue operation is actively ongoing as efforts continue to locate the missing individual.
